For my first attempt at making dough from scratch I decided to make apple Challah. I followed this recipe from Janae Monir. It turned out great!
This is a really fast, easy way to make a refreshing summery salad.
First, take a handful of cherry tomatoes (or in my case a s***tload). Wash and halve them.
Then, add olive oil, chopped cucumber and crumbled feta. I also add a dash of lemon juice instead of vinegar. You can add olives and chopped onions for a more authentic Greek salad but I like to keep it simple.
This story began in April with a few heirloom tomato seeds that I bought from Beekman 1802. They grew slowly into spindly seedlings which I then planted into the rock-hard soil and waited for a miracle.
I’m starting to believe they ate their siblings in order to develop into mutant tomato plants.
These cherry tomatoes are cute but yield like crazy and I’m picking them everyday so they don’t rot on the vine. They are great for Greek-style salads.
I need to use these before they go bad so expect a cooking post soon. Stay tuned!
